RM60 million Shah Alam flood mitigation project begins in December, says exco
A FLOOD mitigation project worth RM60 million involving works to upgrade the drainage system and build bunds and pump houses around Shah Alam is expected to begin in December.
Selangor Infrastructure and Public Facilities Committee chairman Izham Hashim said after resolving the project’s procurement issue, it is now in the tender-awarding stage.
“We (the state government) have asked the Shah Alam City Council (MBSA) to make a limited tender within a short period. Usually, it is 21 days of advertising, but this time we are only giving a week. After that (comes) the evaluation process, (and) next month we can start,” he said at a press conference after inspecting the dredging of Sungai Klang in Kota Kemuning today.
