Klang to get second water treatment plant by end of next year
The Klang region is set to boost its water security with the construction of a second water treatment plant, the Rasau plant, by Air Selangor.
Expected to be operational by the end of 2025, it will produce 700 million litres of water per day, reducing the risk of water disruptions to 9.3 million consumers in Selangor, Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya, who are currently only served by the Sungai Selangor water treatment plant. 
Air Selangor, the largest water service provider in the country, plans to complete four water treatment plants by 2030 to increase the water reserve margin to 20%.
