Electrical & Electronics

The electrical and electronics (E&E) industry is a fundamentally a key driver of Malaysia’s industrial development and contributes significantly to GDP upturn, export wages, investment and employment. E&E has effectively pulled in more than RM 35 billion of investments into Selangor and made more than 177,000 of employment opportunities for more than 3 decades ago. On top of that, E&E industry is also targeted under the National Key Economic Areas (NKEA) to gear the country towards high-income economy by concentrating on high-growth manufacturing activities.

Food & Beverages

The food & beverages (F&B) manufacturing cluster is also one of the important clusters that reinforces and stimulates the state’s economic growth. With the enormous amount of consumers understanding the benefits of natural and healthy products, the demand for natural and organic foods has grown remarkably over the last few years. Selangor is home to numerous food and beverage manufacturing companies who is labelled as the fifth largest industry in Selangor, with beyond RM13 billion invested in the sector over the years and employment created for over 33,000 people. In accordance with the demand, Selangor has set its outlooks on becoming a world trading hub, that food and beverage manufacturing sector is a vital part of this, mainly with the development of the halal industry on the global stage.

Transport & Equipment

For the past 3 decades, transport equipment cluster has enticed over RM 25 billion of investment into Selangor with beyond 68,000 jobs with inundation of both domestic and foreign direct investment. The Government has recognized Malaysia’s aerospace industry as one of the strategic sectors with high growth potential when the Malaysian Aerospace Industry Blueprint 2030 was launched in 2015 with mission of making Malaysia the leading aerospace nation in South East Asia and be a fundamental part of the worldwide market by 2030. Due to strategic location in Malaysia, Selangor has profited from diverse strategic national programs. Relating the prominent revamps are Subang International Airport into a regional MRO hub and escalating into aerospace Research & Technology activities by virtue of the establishment of Aerospace Malaysia Innovation Centre. In a matter of automotive sector, Malaysia looks set to accomplish the target of 100,000 electric vehicles (EVs) on the roads by 2020. For instance, over RM 13 billion of investments with a Compound Annual Growth Rate (CAGR) has been recorded as well as created more than 23,000 of employment opportunities.
